welcome fall

brought in the new season yesterday by having a super cozy day! it started off with a full pancake breakfast all made by my husband, he's amazing! i then ran and picked up a few items to finish decorating our place, made a fall bucket list, then we finished off the day with one of our favorite romantic comedies. they just don't make romantic comedies like they used too!

i found these wreathes at the $1 section of target and picked up
the rest of the supplies at joanns.
i'm really happy with how it turned out!
i love having a chalk board. i can change it for every season
or for any event! i'll post on how i made this for under $20 soon!

dreaming in white

as i sit here at home in sunny southern california, just 1.5 miles from the beach I can't help but day dream of a place where it snows. yes call me crazy but someday i want a white house with black shutters and a big wrap around fence and i want that house to be in a city where it snows. there is something so cozy and calming about a snowy day. eddie and i talk all of the time about moving one day but everything in HIS timing. i do love that it snows in charleston though! sigh...

mason jar love

i love cheap and easy ways to decorate my home. i recently picked up a few mason jars at the dollar store along with these really good "faux" flowers. so easy and so cute. they are also great for use in a bathroom. so many possibilities!
blog soon to come about our mustard side tables!

dining table. love my horse salt & pepper shakers too! thanks
to my lovely friend karla. what a great target $1 section find.

five ways to get ready for fall!

1. decorate
it's so simple but it makes such a huge difference in your home. fall has such a peaceful feel about it and when you bring earth tone colors and pumpkin and spice scents into your home it really creates that peaceful fall atmosphere.
it's no secret i love mason jars and how could i not at .99 a pop at the
dollar store! (a post is soon to follow on my mason jar addiction!) but for now
i love how simple and beautiful this fall mason jar is. displayed on a mantle or in a bathroom
it brings such a warmth to any room!
add this simple give thanks throw pillow to your couch and voila,
a classy fall decoration!

2. clean & organize
you have heard of spring cleaning but why not fall cleaning?!

while you are pulling out the sweaters you stored away
during the summer take time to clean and organize your closet!
now your closet may not look like this but one can dream right?!
i just finished my closet cleaning (pics to follow) and i feel so prepared
for the new season! not to mention how many items i found that i forgot
i had! its like shopping in my own closet.
why not carry on the fall cleaning to the bathroom too! i just
organized my bathroom (pictured here) by picking up
some boxes at michaels and chalkboard labels. simple
and it looks super cute!
i also organized my pantry with chalk labels too!

 3. find fall recipes
pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin spice lattes and 150 fall recipes from brown eyed baker oh my!
this pumpkin ice cream is delicious and so easy to make! pick some
up at williams sonoma and your hubby will be as happy as mine!

love starbucks pumpkin spice lattes but tired of paying $3-4 a pop
for one? now you don't have too! keep this recipe on hand from budding baketress
and you can have one anytime you want.
 4. shop, shop, shop
there are a few fall essentials that every girl needs this season. they are worth the splurge and will definitely last a few seasons! below are my top picks!
1. boyfriend black and white striped crochet sweater at chic nova
2. steve madden cognac boots.
3. classic trench coat. though i love a burberry trench, it is a little
out of my price range but i think this zara trench is my next favorite!
4. ahh tory burch riding boots. classic, timeless.
5. an infinity scraf is a must have this season. h&m is a great place
to find blush pink infinity scarf as well as many others.
6. love this fun and cute ribbon cloche hat from nordstrom!

5. cleanse
a new season is a great time to cleanse our body and our minds.
this twenty one day fast is an amazing way to cleanse your
body and your mind. i have this guide and it was so helpful
during the fast. another helpful guide during this cleanse is from
one of my favorite pastors, jentezen franklin.  this is such
an amazing thing to do not only for your body but for your heart
as you enter this new season!
